Biography

Mohan Charan Majhi (born 6 January 1972) is an Indian politician currently serving as the 15th Chief Minister of Odisha since 12 June 2024. He is a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and represents the Keonjhar Assembly constituency.

Majhi is known for his grassroots political journey, rising from a village-level leader to the Chief Minister of Odisha. He belongs to the Santal tribal community and is the first BJP Chief Minister of Odisha as well as one of the few tribal leaders to hold the top post in the state.
Before becoming Chief Minister, he served as Chief Whip of BJP in the Odisha Assembly and held key legislative responsibilities.
