Prithviraj Harichandan is an Indian politician and a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Odisha. He currently serves as the Minister of Law, Works, and Excise in the Government of Odisha. He represents the Chilika Assembly Constituency in the Odisha Legislative Assembly.
Born in 1968, Prithviraj Harichandan belongs to a prominent political family in Odisha. He is the son of Biswabhusan Harichandan, former Governor of Chhattisgarh and a respected BJP leader.
He completed his Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree from Utkal University between 1987 and 1989. Over the years, he has remained actively associated with public service and political activities in Odisha.
On 12 June 2024, Prithviraj Harichandan took oath as a Cabinet Minister in the Odisha Government during the swearing-in ceremony held at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar. The oath was administered by Governor Raghubar Das in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and several Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states.
As Minister of Law, Works, and Excise, he plays an important role in policy-making, infrastructure development, legal administration, and governance in Odisha. He is regarded as one of the influential BJP leaders in the state and continues working towards development and public welfare.
